Tap, Tap, Tap the Anxiety

Deadlines, pandemics, vaccines, furloughed, home office... all these new concepts to add to the overall stress levels. Added stimulus adds to your body's pressure and can push anxiety levels into dangerous modes. Small changes could have huge effects, in both directions.

Working from home can add the pressure of juggling your family life and creating new boundaries while at the same time spending more time chasing emails, meetings or responses. Tapping can help your body calm down if you find yourself overwhelmed. Instead of having a cigarette break, regardless of your smoking habits, if you were to consciously tap on your body for a couple of minutes every hour, your body would calm down easier.

Think of how you drum your fingers during a boring meeting while off camera. That is your body trying to calm itself down. Now using the same fingers, instead of drumming the desk, tap the fingertips between your eyes,

side of the eye,

under the eye

under the nose

on the chin

while at the same time staring at the work in front of you and taking deep breaths.

Or stand up from your desk and stretch your body.

Treat your body with kindness and it will be kind back
