Wintery walk

Tuesday 28th November 2023

Another one of those nondescript days today as in it felt like Wednesday all day. I've got one week left of UK 'summer' and I was delighted to see the sun colouring the sky. I decided to dress up warm and go for a long walk.

The breeze was icy when walking in a particular direction but I must say that my layers of clothes worked, just like Billy Connolly said it would. (" There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes...") My face was the only exposed bit so I think a balaclava might be that solution, haha.

My plan was to walk to the Marina and check out the apartments that are there because I can see myself living there with a view. It certainly flirted with me today, because the sky was amazing and it just looked so scenic. I know the wind can howl through though but it was still a great walk.

I had to stop at the Marks & Spencer across the road for a warm up coffee. The older generation from Hartlepool all had the same idea but fortunately I got a table.

The nice weather continued so I walked back instead of catch a bus. I meandered through a central cemetery and laughed at the thought of this being a 'happy place' of mine. Cemeteries in Britain are a dog walkers destination too and I had some happy dogs wish me a Beun Camino (good journey)

I was early enough to stop in at my other sister's place for a cuppa and a catch up. It was getting dark around 4pm so I walked swiftly back the last 50meters to my other sister's place. It's fun having everything in walking distance. I'm chuffed with my 8km walk today and it cleared out some mental cobwebs.
