About Me
I was born in Scotland last century and a wee tiny thing when my folks moved to South Africa. Perhaps this move at an early age started all of this. Never really feeling like I fitted in, I longed to return to a country that I thought was 'home'. My young plan was to leave South Africa with it's unjust system of Apartheid and live in my country where I belonged. Except on my return to Scotland, I felt even more of an outsider. After staying with my sister for a year, I returned to South Africa even more confused.
Being an immigrant due to someone else's choice (in this case- my folks) left me feeling misplaced. Yet on my own return, I was officially an adult and it was all my own choice.Tricky though it was, I knew I had to decide where to stay and settle.
I did.
For many years I had the opportunity to travel with my job, but I was always glad to get home to my own house. Life continued like this for 30 years. Then it all changed.
Single again, I looked at my future and realised that I could go anywhere I wanted. The life plan had shifted and I was facing the regret of not travelling solo in my youth. So I started playing with ideas. A global pandemic hampered the overseas travel, but a flash of an idea got me thinking... why not travel locally?
South Africa has much to offer, and I am ready to search.
