Waving

A dull morning meant that I deliberated about my run. After doing a skit for the first time in a while, I decided to take my own coffee down to the beachfront for my post run breakfast. It turned out to be a good decision because while admiring the calm sea I spotted dolphins fins breaking the surface and waved at me.
I love piers. Today I went out on one and noticed a flock of seagulls (not the band) very active over the shallow low tide. I watched for a while as I realised they were drive bombing to catch small fish. The one would come up with a catch and three others would chase it, inevitably it would get dropped and scooped up bu a different full. The fish seemed to change feet or beaks(?) several times and I was fascinated. The water was shallow almost to the end of the long pier because I noticed a surfer walking beside his board. To be suspended above the water, not quite ground and not quite air always gives me a giddy feel and I marvel at the strength of both cement pillars and the relentless sea that crashed into the pier.
I took a drive out to the Bluff area and after some family visits, I decided to investigate that beachfront because I had never gone over the Ridge. It had higher waves and fewer people and an interesting Cave Rock Monument on Google Maps but unfortunately couldn't get any more information on it tonight. The collapse of some social media platforms has made even bigger waves in the world wide web right now. I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
