Wanderings

Thursday 17th November 2022

I went to Hyde Park today (for a client session) not the London one this time but the Johannesburg one.  I drove past a whole lot of places that have lots of memories for me and I slowed down to just let myself feel the nostalgia.

My session reminded me that I am a good therapist and that I feel so honoured when people (strangers usually) let me into their vulnerable, dark and wounded places.

I drove back full of gratitude for the sunny day, flowing traffic and a content heart.  I had to pack quickly to avoid peak hour traffic as I was then driving southwards to my housesitting job that I have for the weekend.

Splashes of rain slowed the cars down to silly level with the erratic drivers then dangerously weaving across the 4 lane highway like it was an empty parking lot. I laughed after I caught myself cursing a big car who was squeezing me out of my lane while giving him an angry hand signal.  My mild mannered temperament of sitting calmly on the public transport of the UK a distant memory,  except it's only been two weeks! Lol!

My friends have a very old delicate cat who is partially blind and deaf and needs medication and gentle handling.  There's also some koi fish that will need feeding.  The house has a stunning view towards my old home town region of the Vaal. The hills in the foreground just adding some depth of field. I'm looking forward to staying completely 'put' for a few days and I hope to get some work done on my new book project.  I'm setting my intention here so there's a virtual nudge from my silent readers. It's also NaNoWriMo month which is a worldwide writing project to encourage writers to just 'get it done' for the month of November. Who knows,  maybe I can tell you at month end that I made it!
