I've officially been in the city for two months but it feels so much longer. Today I had kept free, when a last minute arrangement to meet at a coffee shop happened. I was 9 minutes drive from this nursery and again I was pleasantly surprised. The two lovely ladies gave me a whole new list of 'must sees' over delicious light cheesecake and we got to know a little bit more of each other. They recommended that I visit the aquarium at ushaka today and seeing that it was early enough, I set off.
When I parked up at the ushaka side, the car guard recognized my car and asked why I wasn't jogging. I am loving the different interactions with the local people here and I had a beautiful waitress serve me and I admired her eyelashes and we had a good giggle.
The aquarium was great, being housed inside the belly of the 'shipwreck'. The marine life is so well presented that at one window they were playing soothing music and I could have dozed off. Unfortunately there was a lot of screaming children loving the big cavernous rooms to hear their voices bounce. I did manage to switch off the noise mostly and appreciated the creatures of the deep. It is certainly the closest I will get to scuba diving and I really don't mind doing it in this form. I will definitely return to the center and possibly do a behind the scenes tour.
So from an unplanned day, it turned out be yet another fantastic time. I came home to two hours of power cuts which meant that I sat quietly with the cat visiting briefly and then I started packing.
