Tugging

Thursday 25th August 2022

I managed a run this morning and it felt like my shins were on fire for the first half of my run. I was very close to turning back but I realised i missed the mental vacuuming of long runs.  My brain gets very busy in spite of seeming very calm on the outside.  Running helps me unravel all my threads of thought that have been all knotted up. I laughed at the thought that more distance was needed for my mind. Who is this person?- my young couch potato-self asked.

There was a delicious smell when I got back to my sister's.  She was baking a cake! My lovely great nephews arrived and the dog was very happy to have his pack back.  The cake went down a treat. I listened to my family talk about their holiday and felt honoured to be sitting in this space of getting to know their personalities a little.  Watching them interact with their mum is so special and they really are a delight to watch.

I played a bit with my furry 'niece' while noticing all the late blooms in my brother in law's garden. I've had to really 'win' my furry niece's favour as she's quite selective in who she fusses over. But I'm pleased to say that I got a chin of affirmation this evening while we bonded for a moment.

I'm feeling the lurrrve!
