Tourist free

I ran this morning after a lull for a week. Perhaps I need to rephrase that term 'ran' though, it was more of a heavy slog. The first 3 km were just horrid and I felt like an imposter wearing an old '100km in 3 days' tshirt. But I realised that I miss the natural brain cleaning of a really long run. I know it seems bizarre but it truly does help get my erratic brain in order. I need to get a lot fitter before I get that spring clean though.

I learned a few new things today. I saw a few pelican type birds on the lagoon. I say 'types' because they are supposed to be further up the coast, so can't officially confirm. I also saw that sea fishermen leave their rods in metal casings when it's cast out and the end pier has special cement tables with holes in, for that purpose. I'm writing these tidbits here so I don't forget them.

I drank my shake in front of my regular cafe and almost felt guilty because I am economizing where I can, but the cafe was fairly busy for 9am on a Wednesday morning. The wind was again chilly and I sat with my jacket on while in my running gear. After a visit to my dad, I managed to get some work done in spite of the resident cat doing all sorts of cat things to dissuade me. Eventually the chillier weather won and I went inside to veg out in front of the tv. A day in the life of a world tour lol!
