Woke up to a rather chilly morning on the highveld and the news that UK had banned flights from South Africa again. A hard knock for some of my friends losing holidays but an even harder knock for the tourism industry which will be reeling from this for a long time to come.
I refused to listen to the news on my car radio as I was buzzing around to the China mall.
I could quite easily lose myself in a gadget shop. The men who work there are always surprised when I ask for things in technical terms.
'How does this auntie know this?' I can see their thoughts rush another unmasked part of their faces.
I decided to stop by at my older sister's house because I haven't seen her in the three weeks that I have been in town. She has a huge house on a rocky Ridge with a sealess view, but it's pretty, all the same. When the huge storm passed over it was easy to pretend it was at the coast. Her cat came by to say hello and I was wondering if I am giving out some sort of feline signals with all this cat attention. She was very cute and was feeling cold so she found a lap to snuggle on.
My younger sister who I am staying at, is currently having a big night in and drinking wine and playing music. I'm snuggling with Molly who is loving being on the bed, because her mum doesn't let her. The privilege of being an 'aunt'.
