Thursday 9th June 2022 The further north I travel, the earlier the sun rises. This morning I almost resented the sun shining through the bathroom window at 3am because I hadn't felt like I'd rested enough. But I continued to sleep on, in the familiar spare bedroom of my oldest sister with the faint cry of a faraway seagull calling. I knew my youngest great nephew was popping by before school so I jumped out of bed to greet him. He's almost my height and he's only 12. But after a bit of great auntie grilling him with questions, I could hear the relief when his grandad said 'okay boys, c'mon' and drove them to school. The rest of the day was cheerful especially when Angie opened her car sunroof while we headed out to pick up some salmon for dinner (yummy!) My sister is a fabulous cook and I was treated to my favourite rare pudding of Rhubarb Crumble made from scratch. With a full tummy we took a walk round to check out my second oldest sister's house which is a new acquisition since I was last here. It's lovely walking around the suburb at night even if I had to pull up my hoodie to shield the cold breeze.
