Sunshine from Leith

Thursday 7th July 2022 A historic day in the United Kingdom. The Prime Minister reluctantly resigns. I, on the other hand finally found the space that I was supposed be working in.

I had decided to just go down to breakfast early and try and find myself a lift to the golf course but I had checked if my Uber worked, which it did. After asking a few different people for lifts (really pushing my comfort zone) I was sorted -no £50 Uber needed.

I had accepted that if I didn't have something to do, I would just sit around and be available.(That sounds funny) I realised that half of my anxiety was because the circumstances were reminding my body of the days when I was in the main TV truck and having to worry about everything.  Here, it is not my responsibility and my body really relaxed.

The next thing I was chatting to my initial assigned crew and found my place on a crew.  I was driven around the golf course on a buggy by the young student doing his work experience to get familiar with the golf course. I realised that he was even more out of his depth than I was, so told him a few tips on TV golf. I was then sent out on the slowest moving buggy to the 8th fairway to replace a battery.  Driving through the crowd is interesting. Some people were super grumpy and others were delightful in letting me through.

The weather was superb, sunny with a cool breeze which unfortunately made me think I was okay, by trying to stay in the shade.  Alas,  the Scottish sunshine zapped me. I might need to source a hat somewhere, lol.
