I woke up in another different bed but I'd slept well and I was early enough to catch the dawn breaking the night. The nearby hadedas were having a breakfast conference on where the best Parktown Prawns could be found. (If you have never seen one of critters, you are blessed, they're gruesome and I won't be posting any pics here)
I love that phase of day where the light and dark worlds collide quietly. It felt a little cool so I sat with my coffee under a blanket on my other sister's porch and admired her view.
Today I saw both sunrise and sunset, and had stunning views to the North and later in the afternoon, to the South West. It was a friend's birthday so I helped her declutter and take the items to the recycling and she was ecstatic. (And here's me thinking that I'm easily pleased.)
The 6pm loadshedding drew me out of the now different house to stare at the sky with it's magic sunset light bouncing off the walls. The light is light enough for the last day bird stragglers like the Bulbuls and Thrushes, while the bats stretch their wings after the day of sleep to embrace the night. A few brave mosquitoes hanging on to the last ditch summer, made me go back into the house before I donated my blood.
One thing about staying in so many different houses, is hearing how loud some clocks are. And now that I've noticed it, I can't unhear it. Time marches on... loudly!
