Sunny Saturday walks

Updated: Nov 6, 2022

Saturday 5th November 2022

I left something at the airport it seems.

My voice.

I had a good night's sleep without too much flu symptoms or noises, but when I tried to speak- nothing.

Well actually there was some strange squeaking, lol.

In preparation for next week's tour of Marshalltown in the CBD of Johannesburg, I was meeting with my co presenter mid morning.  I was lying comfortably with my furry niece, Molly again and I must admit it was rather tempting to stay in bed. But the sun was shining and apart from my lack of voice I was feeling good so I set off.

I'm so glad I did, I'd forgotten how lovely the Rand Club is and how nice the mining district is which is where we walked to. It was a lovely morning and after our route check we sat in the Rand Club for some coffee. By this time my voice was like my internet signal, sporadic and uncooperative.  I don't remember ever losing my voice before and I must admit I am finding it hard to be quiet, lol. Plus I had to cancel an afternoon client.  After this long time away I have much to say to my friends but it seems like it must wait.

I walked Molly for a short block and noticed that some of the water pipe repairs have been completed.  The grass looks green although untidy but it was nice walking around and noticing any differences. As the sun was setting I heard the alarm call of the Bulbul birds and dashed outside to investigate.  The sky looked lovely and just as I had taken my picture,  the owl scooped through the corner being chased by the birds. I had a quiet evening watching some TV while sister was out at a function. A perfect evening to stay quiet.
