Rusty woke me up at 4h45 so I let him in and snuggled for 10 minutes before we stepped into the cold air for our early morning run. I was grateful for my long sleeves as we weaved our way through the muddy veld and then the quiet streets. The Gautrains were less frequent being the weekend but the runners were out in groups.
I'd made arrangements to meet up with sister and running wife at the trail park. They'd run round the nature reserve and after a very bumpy drive in my car I sat and had a coffee while waiting. My car seemed to have a mechanical issue and I crawled up the hill after we'd had more coffee and a catch up. I panicked a little but it got me back safely and I tried to contact my mechanic who doesn't usually work on weekends never mind the end of the festive season.
So I started a series on Netflix called 'From Scatch' which turned into quite a weepy story and obviously what I needed on this full moon weekend. On our afternoon dog park run, there was an enterprising 4 year old who wanted to sell dog treats, so of course I had to support small business. Rusty was quite impressed too.
My second last morning run with Rusty takes place tomorrow and I hope that the rumour post on social media about snow in Lesotho is just a rumour, I prefer it being a little warmer, lol.
