It's Christmas Eve's eve! Not that I'm making a fuss of it at all, but I do like the collective cheer of this time of the year.
After driving my sister to work this morning, I decided to go run in my old neighbourhood. Not only for a nostalgic trip but because I know the 5km route is flatter, haha. The streets were eerily quiet of cars, but I did see other runners.
It's nice to visit the streets that had me train up years ago plus the plants are looking great and green. I ran past houses with new residents and different cars but I remembered the old faces, some even deceased, buy mostly moved away. I recalled the dogs and owls, and I stopped to smell the roses. Having missed the Jasmine of Spring I'm enjoying the strong perfume of the 'yesterday, today and tomorrow ' bushes that are in full bloom.
I reflected on the strange happenings of the world over the last three years and took stock of all my exciting events in spite of really dramatic changes. I've been extremely fortunate and although there is still a huge air of uncertainty, I'm feeling really excited about life and taking it one day at a time.
I visited the bank again today and am streamlining the official stuff. With sister having the afternoon off, we had lunch before she collected her car that had been finally fixed. Molly saw me start packing and looked rather glum, so I took her for a late afternoon walk. It's a hot evening with lovely stars and hungry mosquitoes, certainly feeling like summer.
