Strange days indeed

Updated: Jul 23, 2021

It was one of those crazy cold days. The highveld cold can dry out the bone marrow inside my house and I still had a hangover headache rumble from yesterday. I didn't have the right feel for doing my daily skit and I don't believe in forcing my creativity so I ended up driving round to my sister for some bubble wrap for packing, instead. To be honest, it was a ploy to get some dog love, which I did when I mentioned to my furry niece that I would take her for a quick walk.

The icy air calmed my brain down and I managed to get some more tasks done. Then I tried my hand at audio editing for my podcast. I downloaded an app and spent hours trying to fiddle with the different files. I missed the mouse of my computer, then I realised that I was missing the actual buttons of the audio equipment of last century.

We were thrust into loadshedding on the coldest day of this decade, which is not unusual, as my Facebook memories had me complaining about power cuts back in 2014. Fortunately I now have an inverter so I still am able to use my wifi and electronics. A quick chat with an overseas friend had me thinking about a visit but, it's pandemic and isolation and vaccines and all such things that are making my brain hurt again tonight.

Tomorrow is another day....
