Waking up to the sound of gentle rain made me think twice about the plan I'd concocted for the day. But as the day aged, the weather changed and it turned into one of those wonderful sunny days.
I also felt really well health wise so that was a bonus as we jumped onto the bus to the small town center of Paisley. I had a couple of ideas and I knew that Angie would like to spend some time in her favourite coffee shop franchise, Wetherspoons. While we sat there I Googled things to do, seeing that the two main museums are temporarily closed for refurbishment. And that's how we ended up at a delightful museum -the Sma' Shot Cottage Museum.
Run by passionate volunteers, for Old Town Paisley, we were shown around a recreation of a 1750s weavers home, looms and a more well-to-do home. Apparently Prince Charles and Camilla visited the establishment a few years back, so we offered to sign the visitors book for prosperity. The small tea room was a buzz of old biddies and we were served a home baked slice of cake with our tea.
The lane going down from there had lovely artwork which I'm enjoying seeing and I was really chuffed to see Gerry Rafferty, the Baker Street, singer depicted. A quick trip on the bus back up the road made for a surprisingly nice adventure.
