Slow and steady

Thursday 18th August 2022

It was a lekker go-slow day today. I'd decided that I wasn’t going to dash out for a run so I started editing my long video on Durham Cathedral instead.  It ended up taking me a lot longer than I thought and my eyes are skew from focusing intensely on my phone screen. I realised that I do have some 'perfectionism' traits in my system after all - I want to edit it perfectly, broadcast style,  except I'm not an editor lol!

So here it is, bumps and all. It's 5 minutes long and has more detail of the Durham Cathedral in it but it's my start.

I did lift my eyes away from the screen long enough to join my sister on her trip to the hairdresser and I took a walk around the town. There are some marvelous albeit sad looking,  buildings around. But apparently plans are in the pipeline for regeneration of the town centre.  Online shopping and lockdown are responsible for the demise of these town centres.

My sister is a great cook and her food is always yummy and tonight's bangers and mash were delicious. I said to her that, I'm going to struggle being back on the road with soup in a mug for supper in a hotel room.  Having our post dinner coffee in the conservatory, we were treated to a candy- floss style sunset again.  Can definitely feel the season change.
