Sky News

Tuesday 9th August 2022

Today was Women's Day in South Africa and I was fascinated by the feeling of it being a public holiday but not for me. (lol my life is a bit of a holiday) Coming from a family of many more aunts, than uncles, then many more sisters than the brother,  I have always been surrounded by women. We are fascinating creatures.

My late friend always called me 'hen' after she heard that my Dad used to call us 6 girls 'hen', possibly because he struggled to remember who was who, but it's great that my one sister lives on a street called 'Moorhen'.

Today I walked to my phenomenal first offspring and next generation of my tribe, to do some female things. It was a beautiful day for a walk and the clouds were just fantastic.  It was like the heavens were telling me that everything is going to be alright. I wanted this sign because my brother in law was starting his Immunotherapy for his rather serious health issues. Looking up at the sky at his appointment time, I swear I saw angel wings, they just don't show as dramatically on the camera. Then there was the 'Fleur de lis' effect which was a favourite pattern of my late sister.  Yes, my head was away with the clouds today.

After reflexology,  hair colouring, coffee and lemon drizzle cake it was time to get back to my sister's place for salmon and salad for dinner.  We did take one of the dogs for a long walk through the woody area with the now-dry River bed. So I don't spend all of my day eating, lol!

Just to round off the sky day, the sun set fire to the horizon on the west, while the  almost full moon shimmered over the sea on the east. One of those days to 'keep looking up'!
