Shifted

Today I shifted some surplus stuff. I had accumulated bits and pieces and an old temperamental dishwasher that had been standing like a dusty monument in my garage. I searched for charities that could come collect and fortunately a big van arrived to take away their new treasures.

I also managed to move my bookcase into the garage to start storing some boxes. Big gaping spaces remain behind making me appreciate the wide living areas. I had a flash of thought about the possible small spaces that I might find myself in but I am comfortable now with going out to explore my environment and the South African sky is very spacious.

Moving small things on a daily basis certainly helps me acclimatise to the idea of letting go and I am very appreciative of the fact that I do have this luxury of time to do it this way. I am also appreciative of the luxury of having a few places to store my belongings, just in case this nomadic lifestyle isn't what I imagined.

Let's see what the months ahead bring.
