I woke up with a start at 6am and it was light. I wondered if I'd been sleeping so heavily that I hadn't heard Rusty scratch at the door but he was still on his bed when I got up.
Being weekend, I decided to venture out of the estate and round the dam. I remembered to turn right for the better views of the dam and I was right. Plus the grass had been cut and was looking in a good condition. There were a few walkers that passed me while Rusty investigated every fence pool beside the dog training park. But he's a healthy young dog so had me galloping up behind the walkers on the last stretch.
My afternoon turned into a TV marathon and I watched 'Searching for Sugarman' again. It's a film about 70s and 80s rock legend Rodriguez, who was a cult hero in a repressed South Africa. My first viewing of the film way back in 2012 moved me to tears. Today I was crying again, it's moving. Plus it reminded me of my 2014 adventure of hunting down my own teenage pop band crush in London and interviewing them AND getting it professionally filmed. I'm sad to report that I never did anything with the footage (yet) as I struggled to find an editor. The Sugarman film gave me a big nudge, who knows the next step. My philosophy after that experience was 'never say never'.
Back in 'real life' in Modderfontein, the cats showed up and I realised that I hadn't taken any pictures today. Rusty came to lie with me in the lounge and I found out how to use the TV properly. Now there's even more choice, oops, lol!
