Scatterlings of Africa

Sunday 23rd October 2022

Today I woke up to very heavy skies but my heart felt light even though I woke up close to 9am. I was meeting up with my friend.  I hadn't realised that she had a car so we arranged for her to pick me up and we would have an early lunch.

The sun came out while I was waiting for her outside and I realised that I was standing across from a 'prestige car' dealership. I popped across the road and looked in some of the windows.  Another change in myself because I used to feel very uncomfortable around such expensive cars and I would never feel 'worthy' enough to look in the windows.  I grinned to myself at all these unusual shifts of personal things that I'd forgotten.

My friend arrived and we spent the afternoon catching up on 30 years of life and death. She drove me to her lovely home after lunch and I noticed again another African corner in the homes of Brits. There was some lovely artwork which I just had to capture on photos. The rain clouds built up again and there was even some thunder just to add to the African feel.

She dropped me off at my hotel in time for me to catch a crack in the clouds to see the sunset colours. Sunrise was at 7.40am and sunset at 17.53. Next weekend the clocks go back an hour, that will be interesting.
