Waking up with a start, I was very surprised to see that it was 5am. I'm so used to seeing 1am, 3am, 4am as my body clock seems to have switched on to 2 hours of sleep at a time. I was delighted and jumped into my running gear to take Rusty for a run.
Leaving the gate, Rusty was waiting for me to choose the direction but I was waiting for him to show me the running route. He turned right and started jogging, with a smile on his face (although I could only see his butt). The streets were very quiet and the air was cool, as we trundled past some beautiful houses. I am amazed at how quiet Rusty is. He didn't bark at any of the early barking dogs, he listened to my whistle when I used it, and would stand very patiently when putting the leash back on him at busier sections.
I love getting to see how people live, how they wake up and how the lives look differing from my own. I love being able to connect with a domestic (wild) animal for a while and marvel at their ease on the planet. He sneaked my running shoe out of my room while I was showering. I took that as a compliment and acknowledged his acceptance.
I took a drive around the estate looking for the market which was in different place than shown on Google maps but I was truly impressed by the area, the reserve and dam. I'm also totally impressed with my car over the bumps and dirt on the road. I will have to explore more over the next couple of weeks. It was too cool weather wise today and I hadn't expected walking trails neither, so cut my exploring short a bit.
