I have muscles that I didn't know were there. Yip, that old post race feeling happened upon me today. I woke up feeling rather fresh so thought I'd take my legs out for a stretch walk and visit the shops. It was sunny, the bus arrived and at times, I even had to take my jacket off. I sorted out my 'high street bank account' card and decided to nip into Glasgow on the train.
My feet suddenly complained about the cobblestones and bumpy pavements so I ended up buying a gel insole for my shoes and it worked a treat. I helped some Americans find their way to some art, and I found a new one for myself and I sat myself down in a wetherspoons admitting 'defeet' -groan!
I absolutely love the details on the red buildings in Glasgow city and thought about how ornate the details are and how garish they might look when drawn on a sketch. I got a thrill when I heard on a shop radio news bulletin that Antonio Gaudi' Sagrada Familia fourth tower has been completed and that the construction is set to be completed in 2026... mmm, my 60th birthday year. (Seeing as I was there for my 50th) That got me thinking about a return visit to check on the finished product. Gaudi and I share a birthday, so we're kindred spirits. Construction of the church only started in 1882...
I made my way back to my brother's house and have rested my feet ever since. I think tomorrow is going to be a slow day...
