Saturday 23rd July 2022

It was so good to be able to sleep later this morning. No 4am call times, no fire alarms and a later shift start. I felt close to normal health wise and I was so relieved.

I dropped some of my colleagues out on the different fairways as the golfers were teeing off. It was thrilling to know that Ernie Els and David Frost were in the same two ball, although I didn't get to see them this morning.  I did give two policemen a quick lift across the first fairway which was a laugh. The Scottish public are truly funny and full of jokes so after seeing the policemen, many people were shouting for a lift.

The steady rain moved in as the live transmission started and it didn't stop. I almost felt guilty sitting warm and dry in my truck again but I have a bit of a cough going on, so the guilt passed. Unfortunately near the end of my shift my tummy started up again. I think my body knows that I'm almost finished this work stint and is telling me it's time to switch gears again.

It's been amazing but I am super excited about my last day tomorrow.
