Playtime!

Sunday 26th November 2023

I think that grown ups don't play enough. We don't have the belly laughs or proper growling or stamping our foot like we do while playing. We could get rid of so many pent up emotions if we played more.  I reckon play-parks should have adult swings and slides,  we can forego the roundabouts,  we fell off those in our childhoods.  But I reckon the world needs more play parks.

Why am I thinking of this? Well, another game of badminton went down really well today and I did most of those things. I laughed, growled, stomped my foot and shouted at my 'fresh air shots'. I got myself another bruise on my wrist from the racquet,  but I moved my watch so it's not as bad as last time.

I used to play social badminton every Wednesday morning for years. My inspiration was these older folk who didn't play 'nice' but to win. I forgot how much fun it could be to play because my running began to take preference.  A few of these games played here now, and I'm beginning to feel less rusty.  I'm able to see how to place shots again and I was lunging a bit more too. I was also proud to be able to make my partner 'run' a few times. Yip, happy days indeed.
