My dear friend made a huge effort to come down from Johannesburg to visit me. It has been delightful showing her around to all the places that I now know a teeny bit about. Of course, this morning was the hottest it's been since I got here, so she was wondering if I had made up all these cool weather and wind stories! It was that clammy heat that made my head pour and the jasmine sweat too. The sea was calm and there were lots of youngsters about and I am wondering if there is still school holidays on somewhere.
We went into the Cargo Hold restaurant which is 'nestled in the stern of the phantom ship' and houses a huge shark ocean tank. It is magnificent. I enquired about the ship and discovered that is a custom made replica and not a real ship, the phantom ship apparently appeared sailing from a southerly direction with a blue green light swinging at the fore, answered no signals and never arrived inside the harbour. I love this kind of thing and wish there was more of a story shared about the ship.
I was amazed and my eyes constantly watched these magnificent beasts swim around the tank. I am unlikely to ever scuba dive, so this is probably the closest I will get to seeing sharks and sea fish. Really worth a visit.
We were treated to a spectacular sunset while the mosquitoes feasted on the Jozi flavoured blood. Tropical vegetation means different kind of beasties.
Spending time with her means that I am not on social media as much, which is quite refreshing albeit a little bit strange.
