Wednesday 18th January 2023
I woke up before the loadshedding stopped at 6am and noticed the light on the horison. Laying there I listened to the street waking up knowing that there is a primary school nearby. The tiny cat started meowing and after the bathroom stop, it came to snuggle beside me. All this cat love I've received since I've been back in South Africa must be necessary in some mystical way, lol.
The morning quiet was rudely interrupted by the sun affecting the outside alarm and I jumped up to try sort it out. If only I'd switched the alarm off straight away instead of meditating with the cat... haha.
I had a pet 'switch over' as I returned to Molly and moody cat, Emily. They both gave me the smell inspection and then proceeded to let me unpack.
My sister and I went to meet up with Marlene at the running club. I hadn't been there since before my UK trip so there were quite a few changes. Being January, there was a large group of runners doing the Wednesday night Time Trials. I did the 5km and my first km was very heavy and my chest was rather tight. It was also rather hot and I much prefer running in the mornings. But I might feel a bit of tightness in my legs in the morning, lol.
