Parked

Updated: Jul 18, 2023

Monday 17th July 2023

I woke at 5am feeling ready for my day. I had an online therapy session which I was looking forward to, with one of my old regular clients. It was nice to catch up and remember that I am able to help people find their own solutions.  My personal solution to this fine sunny morning was to stay local and go find the park.

It was interesting seeing the market area so vacant and very few people on the streets. I saw lots of runners which made me almost envious but I ended up walking about another 10km today. My intention was to get a coffee and sit in the park which turned out to have a lovely high hill with a view of London from the south. Brockwell Park is 50 hectare Park with lots of old trees, sporting fields, some ponds and benches. I'd bought an iced coffee from Sainsburys and then it started to drizzle while the sun shone brightly.  My Vera hat saved my hairdo(haha) and I dried off a bench to sit on, and pondered a while.

I set off again to hunt the houses of Van Gogh and David Bowie, but got distracted by some shops along the way. I did find both places later in the afternoon though and wondered how much of the street was there when Van Gogh lived there. Horses, oil Street lights, coal fires... all very different from the clean air of nowadays.

I chatted with some family,  my friend finished working so we walked her dog and had an easy dinner.  I've been doing some loose planning for the next couple of weeks so I feel a little organised,  haha.  But plans are always subject to change, especially now that I'm no longer afraid of ch-ch--changes...
