Paper city

Friday 29th April 2022

I woke up to a cold geyser and a flat phone. The power was still awol. I realised how quiet it is without the radio. After too much silence I started listening to the radio app while my power bank fed my phone. The weather was chilly and I was in no mood to run especially if I couldn't have a warm shower. The pile of papers called me.

They didn't need power to be completed, dammit, they just needed my attention.

Sighing heavily, I sat down to get started. The paperwork is needed for my Tour guide course and the reason why I feel compelled to finish it completely is because I am being sponsored to complete this basic level. Now that I word it that way, it feels different. Mhhmm. Maybe that's why I needed to write this anxiety inducing paper story down, to get a different angle on it. Eureka!

The day was spent hovering over power chargers and papers and finally the power came back on just before 4pm. So just a 22 hour energy break this time. My sister arrived home from work and went out for her run, I kept writing. Eventually I got too cold and decided to call it a day. Getting under the blankets with my furry companion is the best way to unwind over my desk huddling.
