Open and out.

Sunday 10th July 2022

The final day of the Scottish Open Golf 2022. This time last week, I was oblivious to the golf, the fact that I'd be working on it and was simply planning my train trip from my cousin's house!

The weather stayed glorious today and the breeze was warmer than the previous days. The clouds are very different probably because of the wind. I took some snaps on route in the car and I reminded myself of this amazing opportunity.

I started walking behind my two golfers today, Tommy Fleetwood and Patrick Cantlay. They were quite chatty but no swearing fireworks like my Spaniard, 'Rambo' yesterday (Jon Rahm). My feet were incredibly sore today and I don't know how I am supposed to run a marathon in October.  But the views again made me stop and look across the Firth of Forth which looks like a sea and again I smiled at my luck.

I ended up back at the TV compound before the television transmission ended so I started helping with the derig. This is when the hard, dirty, heavy work starts and I was reminded of how I used to be so much fitter in my upper body when I was a youngster.

This week took me totally out of my comfort zone, and I know that my year of traveling had most certainly helped my confidence and anxiety. Not knowing anyone in the 300+ crew would have really affected my anxiety years back plus I had to ask complete strangers for lifts.

Oddly enough,  the first morning I was playing LM radio via my phone and the first song was 'don't talk to strangers '. Fortunately I didn't listen.
