One day of the new year done.
I spotted some Cosmos flowers on my run, which is usually an indication of Easter time and the end of Summer. I hope it was just a keen gardner who convinced the plants to flower early because I have yet to experience summer.
There was a blanket of cloud hiding the nearby power station chimneys to remind me of Table Mountain's blanket that I will be seeing in February.
Rusty and I went a little further on the run to tire him out. It worked because he slept most of the day. I did have one the cats come and head bop me on the couch looking for some love. I was having a rather lazy day so perhaps she was trying to bop me off the couch, lol.
I'm still in awe of the ease of modern technology which gave me the luxury of a long video call with my niece in the UK. I had a flash of remembering having to keep Skype in credit so I could get cheap, quick chats with my far away family. I think Skype still owes me about €9- mmm! The technology also gave me the endless choice for my viewing pleasure so I binged watched a series (which I'm still debating if it was good or just mindless enough to have on in the background.)
Then I remembered the Cape village of Darling that I have always wanted to visit, so searched for accommodation for a night or two. I had a nudge about the website for couchsurfing so I started looking there too but a lot more research needs to be done and now I feel like Rusty and need to sleep.
Sweet dreams...
