The 8/8 day brought lovely sunshine again and it made for very pleasant adventuring. I joined my niece and her boys on the train to Newcastle. I'd packed my wig for my skit which you can watch here, but I also have a history of embarrassing my 'offspring' so my great nephews weren't spared. OK, they actually were spared because I only threatened to don my blue hair on the train, I didn't actually do it, unlike my boogie moves in supermarkets with the first generation of offspring who wanted to be swallowed by the ground in embarrassment.
Once we arrived in the city, I turned down towards the river and the young family turned up towards the shops. I'm really loving all the different buildings, bridges, pedestrian areas and friendliness of the UK. I went into a couple of buildings including the cathedral, where I finally heard someone playing the huge organ. I was so surprised to see a dog inside the church but even more surprised that it started barking once the organ rehearsal was over!
I reached the Quay area along the river and sat on the Millennium Bridge and tested the wind, and public visibility for my skit. A family walked past and the lady remarked
'Love the hair'.
I had a laugh and I realised that I need to do far more public skits to get my 'nerve' up.
When I started the skits, it was literally me and the camera, I'm not used to people stopping to wait for me to finish filming, or to try and listen in! But I did learn a thing or two by watching the Edinburgh buskers.
How do I get to Carnegie hall? Practice! Haha!
