Muddy views

At 3am there was a lot of thunder and heavy rain which woke me up and I thought

'Well there goes Rusty's walk'

But at 5.09am he scratched at my door to tell me it's all clear.

We ventured out of the estate again when I realised that the inside fields were very muddy ( Modderfontein after all)

Rusty was a little more confident this time and seemed far more curious about the different smells.

As we rounded the dam I could see the sun bounce of the misty surface and my vague recollection of heavy rain was confirmed. The pedestrian bridge over the stream was fortunately very dry, unlike the road bridge that was almost flooded.

There was a lot more cars on the road at 6am and I realised that almost all the Christmas lights on the different homes had been taken down. I was a little sad at the thought.

But my mood improved with my friend visited and we went to lunch where we marveled at the view. Everything looks lush and green. Plus we got excited about the Gautrain.

I realised how uncomfortable I get when people take photos of me, which is totally bizarre as I take thousands of selfies. I think it's because I can't see what I look like and I am not in control. Fortunately she takes very flattering pictures of me regardless of my toes curling.

My second last night here, I think I am going to miss it. I will certainly miss Rusty. I wonder if his owners will consider adopting me? Lol!
