I woke early. It was dark and quiet. After hearing that leisure travel was once again permitted locally, my dreams had me travelling all over the globe. But first things first. I need my smartie serviced.
I have a 17 year old Smart Car. They are powered by Mercedes Benz, which means services can be costly. Fortunately, I have found a specialist mechanic who only works on these tiny cars. At 5.32am I was imagining myself driving to his plot, to get my lockdown-postponed service. It was too early to message the mechanic so I managed to distract myself by packing until 8am when I sent the text.
He said 'let's make it tomorrow '
My impromptu planning sometimes means my urgency has to wait. My whole early morning schedule shifted. But hey, there's plenty cupboards to empty..
I am sentimental about paper.
There, I admitted it.
School scrapbooks, diaries and empty notebooks..all very difficult for me to part with. In spite of my current brutality in offloading, there's some treasures that I can't part with. A letter from my mum in 1988. It was the 30th anniversary of her death yesterday so the timing of this find was divine. Instantly I could hear her voice, her slow pace of speech and her calm pause. It forced me into a lull and I felt a lovely big cosmic hug.
