Monday 2nd January 2023
The week where days are mixed up and time doesn't matter. Had to keep reminding myself that it was Monday as I'm sure many people did. Plus it was a Public holiday today which meant that a few businesses were still closed as we found out on a lunch excursion.
My school friend who lives in the estate drove me to a new (to me) shopping center after the nearby one was closed. It was buzzing with many lunch goers. I always feel amazed when I see this many people out and about because I tend to see centers on quieter weekdays.
Chatting to my friend, who is a mum, we discussed parenting and the complexities of young life on 2023. It's 40 years since we started our last year at school.
40 years!
How did that happen? Haha
It's great when chatting with someone who has a shared history because of the different memories. It boosts them and fills up gaps, colouring in the sepia pictures. Plus, Facebook is a great help in person searching haha.
One of 'my' cats, had been awol all day and I was a little concerned. But I know cats have their own habits and can disappear so I called a few times out the door after Rusty and I returned from the afternoon walk. The world looked different today because the sun shone for most of it and finally when darkness enveloped the kitchen, JD returned for his dinner, yey!
