I had plans to open a local bank account while in the UK because the South African banks charge crazy fees on international transactions. Unfortunately walking into the bank would give a 3 week wait for a card, so that idea was halted and I was advised to do it online. So the next task was to go and collect Angie's personal items from her van. We set off in the new car with the car salesman driving us on the rather wet roads. It was cold and miserable which suited the mood for Angie to say goodbye to her UK 'home' and transport.
I was amazed at how big the van is and she confidently climbed up and started driving the country roads back to the car dealership. We sorted through her camping goods, photos and all sorts of memorabilia. It is hard to believe that this big vehicle is no longer roadworthy becuse in South Africa it would be considered a moving mansion. After the new car was packed we set off to the bnb street armed with parking permit and met up with Angie's friends for a lovely dinner. I had to have bangers and mash and mushy peas, it's not often found in pubs anymore and it was delicious.
Tomorrow we visit more of Angie's friends on route northwords to meet up with my siblings, yey!
