Misty musings

I have always been afraid of the dark, in particular, night.

Last night I was standing outside coaxing Rusty to have a last pee when I noticed the eerie clouds in the sky. I had to try take a photo. Oddly enough I don't seem to be as scared standing in the actual night as I feel inside a house or a car. I'm much better than I used to be, fear wise, thankfully.




The morning light was misted over and as Rusty and I sloshed through the muddy fields, I couldn't see the cars on the main road alongside the estate fence. It was heavy and Rusty seemed to stay close beside me. By the time we'd returned, the sun had cracked through the mist and it turned into a beautiful day.


I drove near the Gautrain tracks and recognized the tunnel entrance where it dissappears under the city to spit the passengers out in the belly of Sandton, almost 50 meters underground. I was playing with Google earth on satellite view the other day, as you do.(haha) I wondered how many locals in the area use the train to get to the shopping/business hub of Sandton. I still love the idea of having an efficient, professional train system as public transport in my city. Unfortunately it doesn't stretch westward (yet) to the area where I live. There are plans to expand, but who knows if and when...
