I woke up early with a start, after dreams of not finishing my packing or having the wrong clothes or something. Dodgy travel dreams used to be a theme of mine a while back, but fortunately my reality of travel has been quite the opposite.
I 'traveled' down to breakfast after fiddling around on Booking.com and doing some research for a possible online tour project.
The conservatory was heating up after the sea mist from yesterday. It was really warm by the time we'd met my other sister for a Sunday walk.
We took the footpaths around the estate onto a more farm-like path, opening public gates and passing cows in a field. A lot of farm land is being built on with new houses. It got quite hot in areas without the big trees and I enjoyed looking at all the different berries on the bushes and trees. I did try taste what might have been black berries but they weren't ripe and after my facial aerobics I thought it wise not to try any others.
We walked through a well maintained and well attended park that had a small dam, pretty flowers, bandstand and a monument to the soldiers who died in the South African War ( Boer War) We stopped for a cold drink in the Cafe and caught our breath. My head was sweating as it was rather humid.
I really enjoy seeing so many families in the parks with their kids, dogs and picnics.
It's lovely to be able to enjoy these summer days but I do appreciate that it is a little cooler tonight which will make sleeping easier.
