Sunday 11th September 2022
A highlighted day and not just because of the Queens body convoy, or the 9/11 anniversary, but I spent a magical day being taken around by my local friends.
I love being shown special places and old houses and seeing someone's life history. This part of Scotland has so many nooks and crannies which I would never have found on public transport on my own, so I feel so privileged to have been driven around on this fine weathered day.
So many treasures from the lovely houses, farms, surprise art, small harbours, clouds, old railway tracks, viaduct, beautiful beaches, seals, old army base traces, ice house building, dolphin reporting station, coffee shops, pumpkins, peacock butterfly, rivers, old bridge, berries being eaten by some dogs, haggis and absolutely lovely company.
If I hadn't had all these months (possibly years) of build up of amazing things happening to me, I would struggle to accept the daily gifts that are popping up. There's a tiny part of me that can't believe that all this good is happening to me and for me, but then I have practiced looking for the good. It is everywhere.
John was a Facebook friend, who I'd interacted with on a few occasions. After a brief 'confirmation of existence' meeting in 2015, today I can now attest that both him and his delightful wife are full-on lovely friends. I'm so grateful for Facebook and the internet that these connections can manifest such amazing things and friends. It's all magnificently special.
