Spending time in one location means that this travel blog can be a series of boring diary entries. Today could have been seen as a boring day, except it was awesome. Yes, I stayed in my running clothes all day, and no I haven't yet showered but now it's loadshedding so I probably won't get one today. Ew. The sun was blaring this morning and I eventually dragged myself out the (now working) gate to go for my first Sedgefield run. The tide was going out and the fishermen were already at the lagoon. I spotted a young lady journaling, on a bench at the water's edge and there were early morning workers making their way through the sleepy village. I love seeing the world on foot, it gives me a tiny glimpse on how people live. There were hellos from fellow walkers, waves from drivers and cheerful greetings from locals with their smokes and coffee on their stoeps. I passed a small graveyard and almost went in but decided to save it for another morning. We'd had a loose plan to go to the market but as things do, the plan changed. Instead we spent the day catching up in person and taking photos of the ever changing lagoon mouth. A nice day of human conversation and pizza delivery. In other words, a perfect day.
