London funeral

Monday 19th September 2022

Today the world was full of Union Jack's and people who either sat in front of the television or avoided it. The Queen's funeral dominated social media, the newspapers and London. I was one of those who had the TV on and had both a professional and a personal interest in it.

The Brits do pomp and ceremony in a fantastic and orderly way. This historical event seemed to go off without a hitch. Although I did read that there were a few participants fainting. But the scale of the organisation was immense.  Security,  transportation,  parking, bathroom breaks, crowd control.... arghhhhh it's huge. Plus the TV production and their discreet cameras everywhere must've been daunting too. I was quite glad to be part of the audience on this one because it was a very long day for everyone. The new king handled it marvelously and he's almost 74. All that walking in full military attire must've been exhausting.  No doubt they are all sitting down with a good cup of tea. I'm sure his mum would be pleased with the events of the day. May she finally rest in peace.

I'm tired too, it was a long way downstairs.
