Livin da vida local

Today we went to a favourite street in the city, Florida road. I like the many different restaurants and coffee shops and alleyways that are equally tempting and fascinating. But I love the many interesting buildings that have been restored. Buildings are my thing.

I don't remember the architect details nor the period style but the details and craftmanship intrigue me. Who lived here? What stories could these walls tell? Why this plot of land?

Fortunately my friend has a similar interest in architecture.

We of course, had to have a delicious meal in an old stately house overlooking a delightful food court with beautiful trees. Being a Friday afternoon, there was a buzz in the air with people getting excited for the weekend. It was busier than my solo trip on a Sunday, which is pleasing because it means people are out enjoying themselves and helping businesses get back on their feet. My own feet were getting tired, so after a coffee at a different restaurant we left the sunset buzz to the younger crowd who were looking extremely glamorous and ready to party.

I continued my own party in my pj's under the fan.
