Lancs trip

Wednesday 22 November 2023

Today the gray sky returned. I couldn't see the far side of the bay at all. It's amazing how different places can look on account of the weather. My friend suggested that we take the bus to Lancaster to see a different place. We didn't get to visit the castle, but we walked through the main streets and enjoyed the different energy of the town.

The High street has lots of side alleys so I had to pop up most of them, but I was disappointed to not see any hidden street art anywhere. No doubt there is some, but it remains hidden for another visit, preferably in the summer next time.

We did find an alleyway Cafe where we sat down for a cuppa. The Lancastrians are quirky folk, and we spotted a couple of ladies walking past carrying

large reindeer. Not real ones, of course, but they were rather life size. I was so surprised by the first sighting I wasn't ready with my camera, but Samantha warned me for the second one, so that I was able to snap.

Speaking of snapping, she doesn't like having her photo taken so I promised I wouldn't post any more pictures of her. It's become a custom of mine, to start out the days adventure with a selfie so my siblings are getting used to it, but, fellow adventurers aren't quite as keen, haha. It was something I did every morning while walking the Camino in Spain. For five weeks, Grace graced me with my selfie indulgence and nowadays, it's become a habit for my blog.

Tomorrow I head back north to my sister's house, for the last stretch of my UK 'summer'.
