July sped by.

Sunday 31st July 2022

The last few hours of July. It's been a blur of a month with 3 weeks of work and 2 weeks of blegh. Fortunately today I felt almost normal,  haha yes- my normal.

We hadn't made any plans to go out and about so Angie organized her packing because she flies back down to her other job in England tomorrow and I started looking at possible routes back to South Africa in October.

I can't get over the fact there are so many travel options within a short flight from here. I was thinking about a couple of days in Egypt,  then I moved to Croatia,  Istanbul then Rome.  Needless to say there is still no ticket booked yet but I know that Amsterdam is off the cards this time. Marlene isn't coming over this for the marathon.

I have been to Amsterdam though and spent a month in a small Dutch town of Breda in 2000 when I worked on the Eurocup football. It was long hours and I think I had one day off the whole month, but it was still a great experience.  It's nice looking at places now and thinking about what I would like to see and not just where are the stadiums that I'm working at.

This afternoon the sun come out, so Pauline took her motorcycle for a spin and my brother went to the first football match of the season.  The sun is setting earlier and the day is getting a little shorter.  Life doesn't stand still,  that's for sure.
