Jozi St Patrick

Thursday 17th March 2022 St Patrick's day and I forgot to wear green.  I did manage a short run though which I was rather surprised by. It's unusual staying on a different side of the highway from my own home. But that's the point of me doing this tour, I want to experience life from different angles.  I haven't yet started thinking about information snippets because I am focused on research for my upcoming heritage tour that I'm cohosting on the 2nd April.  I was planning on going to the City library for newspaper archives but fortunately I was told that it's currently closed for renovations.

Today I visited some dear friends and had a yummy lunch with another, less than 2km away from my bnb. It is interesting watching the sun set differently in a town that I used to think I knew so well. Being a tourist in my home city feels like I am almost cheating but interesting at the same time.  I am enjoying looking up accommodation in different areas and seeing how prices differ.  I know the posher areas but a lot of them have more affordable prices which is fascinating.  I'm looking forward to exploring some of the different things in the coming weeks.
