Human and comfortable

Friday 8th December 2023

Yey! I slept through the night AND my tummy settled. I was so surprised when I saw it was light at 5am that I'd slept all night. I was still quite dehydrated though and was aware of my system being so depleted so I continued liquids and gradually ate a few crackers. Around 3pm I realised that I must be recovering because I felt like eating chocolate. However, I still stuck to a block just to make sure it all stayed down.

I know this is not quite the adventure that everyone likes to read, but it was mine. Although I did manage the stairs at my sister's holiday lodge-like home, without needing to rest halfway. The dogs also looked a little bit brighter and Harley was very keen to play 'fetch'. I'm sure he would've liked a swim too but I didn't encourage him today, because I wasn't sure if I'm ready to clean floors.

It felt warmer today too, especially late afternoon and I had that confirmed by the appearance of my old enemy, the mosquitoes. They love me and it's not mutual. Fortunately there's a fan in my hotel (almost) room.

The benefits of a large kind family who all have spare rooms and great taste means that my bed-hopping is rather comfortable. Especially now that I am well enough to appreciate it.
