On my last walk around the estate at 6am I made a point of going down streets that I hadn't been down. It had rained in the night so after letting Rusty run through his park, he seemed content moving at my pace and sniffing in different scents. I had a laugh while he was sniffing, I stopped and smelled some roses.
Approaching one of the small parks, I saw a cat sitting mid path silently watch us. I was thinking about how many cats walk around the streets at sunrise. Then I noticed a large bird which initially I thought was a crow. It flew silently up to a low lying branch and I stopped when I saw the hawk-like beak. It was definitely a bird of prey and I wished I'd had my camera to capture its image. The rest of the walk was pleasant and I admiring my furry companion for these past 3 weeks.
After packing my bags and saying goodbye I had to fill up my beautiful car with fuel. I wasn't even sure where the petrol cap was. I stopped looking at the petrol tank numbers when it got to 40 litres as my Smartie tank is around 25 litres and I was more concerned with the weather.
I skirted round the dark, heavy storm clouds on the motorway in my very high car and noticed how many more cars were on the road now that the festive season is a memory. I got back to a very happy Molly who just wanted me to play ball. I'm moving from dog to dog, lol.
