Holidays

Thursday 14th April 2022 It's the month of strange week timings. In South Africa this month, we have two extra public holidays as well as Easter so the holiday energy had me feeling like it was Friday. Not that weekends mean much to me, I always worked over weekends and only later in my life did they mean something differentin doing my 'long runs' training for the Comrades marathon.

This morning was a glorious Autumn morning so Marlene and I set out on her routes for a run. I was doing a short one while she stretched out her legs more.  Sadly yesterday I had a bit of BP wobble so she turned back with me on a short run. The route today  was gentler and I found myself smiling at cats on sunny post boxes, dogs shouting at the lucky ones being walked and I was  also admiring the houses. I'm always surprised by how good a run is at cleaning my brain out. It's like an anti-virus on my internal memory that gets clogged, so I need to keep doing my morning runs. I left Marlene's home after a lovely stay for a great, spacious bnb in Randburg for the weekend.

It has a bath! Some bnbs don't look great in photos and turn out to be better in life and this is such an example.  Some people just add tiny finishing touches that make a stay feel really special. I intend to write it all down one day, which had better be soon before I forget.
