This morning Angie and I headed out to meet up with an old TV colleague who lives in Richmond. It was fresh but dry so after we met up we sat under a magnificent tree for a brunch and catch up. It was so nice getting nostalgic and remembering different things.
Mark had his cute dog with him who was fascinated with the squirrels and pigeons but totally averse to me. I didn't take it personally. When he said they'd gotten the dog during Lockdown it made sense. A lot of pets seem to be stranger-averse because of the limited contact. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. On the other side of our table there was a cute puppy that caught my eye and she was straining her leash to come and say hello to me. Dog love resumed.
After our brunch we walked around the small shopping area then went back to the riverbank to sit in the sun. The wind was cooler than yesterday but when the sun was out, we felt comfortable. Angie is making her way back to South Africa tomorrow after a 22 month absence. I'm on my 6 month and although I'm looking forward to returning, I'm by no means done with my travels. We bade our farewells at the train station with the sounds of a busker playing really cool reggae music that really made me want to boogie.
I walked back to my hotel room to sign in online to a Tour Guide meeting from Johannesburg. It's fun hearing all about possible tours and different ideas and I'm looking forward to doing mine when I get back. In the meantime, I've still got some more UK touring to do.
